Club Updates and Changes

Hello Underwater Enthusiasts!

I hope everyone enjoyed the last 2 weeks with fantastic weather and diving.  The UWAUC boat, Doris, got out plenty with lots of new faces.

The UWAUC Committee has been hard at work the last few months, and this is a quick update for you on key matters.

*ACTION REQUIRED* Submission of Diving Certifications

If you take one message out of this email, please take this one – going forward the Club has determined that as part of being a responsible dive club we will now require members to submit evidence of their diving qualifications. To facilitate this we ask members to submit a photo of their certifications to the club email address [email protected] prior to 31-Jan-22. After this period you will not be able to register for dives until this is submitted.

As UWAUC does offer technical diving, we ask you to submit photos of dive cards for each of the following categories if they apply to you:

  1. Recreational diver (e.g. Open Water, Advanced Open Water, Deep etc)
  2. Solo Diver
  3. Open circuit tech certifications
  4. Closed Circuit Rebreather

Please submit your highest certification in each category. If you're not sure which is your highest please send all that could apply.  Please note that everyone will need to supply a response to at least category 1 if they want to be able to dive with the club.

Updated Bylaws

UWAUC Bylaws have been updated and are now in effect.  We have tried to provide more clarity on pricing, refund policies and trip rules.  Please notes the refund policies are located within the section they relate to (ie membership, gear rental, day trips & extended trips).

You can find the updated bylaws on the club website (https://www.uwauc.org.au/about/) or via the club Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/uwauc/permalink/7028014103877142/)

Gear Hire – Shed Roster

The shed will now have a fixed opening window, from 6:30pm to 7pm on each rostered day for you to hire out or return gear. It is still important that you let the rostered person know you're coming at least a day before so they know who/how many people to expect.  To find the roster list and hear hire prices please refer to the club website (https://www.uwauc.org.au/come-diving-with-us/gear-hire/) or club Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/groups/uwauc/permalink/6901369463208274/)

Regards,

UWA Underwater Club Committee
