To celebrate, we will be hosting a BBQ and shore dive at Ammo Jetty. Divers please arrive at 0800, we will then have a post-dive breakfast BBQ with bacon and eggs rolls and soft drinks supplied. Anyone who fancies some food but doesn't want to dive can turn up at 0930! We will then be running a quick single boat dive out to the Carnac area.
Chromodoris now has spanking new twin 140 HP motors, so we are looking forward to a summer of regular, reliable boat dives - and with a couple of new skippers signed off and at least 2-3 more on the way we will be running a heap more outings this year! The beauty of having a boat the size of 'Doris is that we can easily tow her and run trips further afield, and the coming year will be no exception. We are already organising our traditional Australia Day weekend in Dunsborough, and will again be heading to Augusta and Albany - plus a few more trips down to the Lena at Bunbury. The Abrolhos Islands will hopefully be on the cards again for the fourth year in a row, and we are hoping to run a week-long trip to somewhere further North during the winter months.
The last couple of years have had us running extremely tight margins, and as a result of some recent financial planning by the committee we have inevitably had to make some small increases to boat dive costs as detailed below. As you'll be aware, we are not-for-profit and all money goes straight back into the club to pay for boat/truck maintenance, gear servicing, and a long-term asset replacement fund so we are able to fund a new/boat/truck whenever that is required (hopefully many years in the future). However, we STILL offer the best value boat dives in Perth for our members, and students can still benefit from discounted rates!

For anyone wishing to hire gear, we have a new volunteer roster coming out very shortly. The club has full sets of gear including BCDs, computer regs, weights, tanks and wetsuits in all shapes and sizes. Hire prices are capped at $40 (or $20 for students) for a full set of gear. Please remember to contact the roster volunteer before noon the previous day if you wish to access the clubrooms to rent gear.
Lastly, we're looking at ordering some hooded change towels with embroidered club logos - they look pretty good. If you'd like one, please order before the end of next week!
