Ammo Jetty is one of the more interesting shore dive sites in the metro area; but unfortunately it’s also a magnet for all sorts of rubbish, both deliberate and accidental (think old fishing line, rope, hooks, bottles, cans, camp chairs and of course the odd shopping trolley). This obviously doesn’t look great, but also presents hazards for marine life including diving birds and sea lions. If you can spare an hour, head along to lend a hand – a beach cleanup is happening at the same time for those who don’t want to get wet.
