Event Type

Geraldton TAFE has given us four dates for trips in 2021!  Each trip is a 3-day trip to the Abrolhos Islands on the 62ft Masterclass training vessel.   The dates are:

Saturday 21 – Monday 23 August (*** FULLY BOOKED ***)
Saturday 11 – Monday 13 September (*** FULLY BOOKED ***)
Saturday 2 – Monday 4 October (Tech Trip – must be certified to ANDP or higher) (*** FULLY BOOKED ***)
Saturday 15 – Monday 17 October (*** FULLY BOOKED ***)

Waitlist with all the trips now full if you are keen to go on this trip but missed out on a spot then put your name on the waitlist and we’ll contact people in order of when they went onto the waitlist. If you can only make some of the trips then put that in a note on your booking.

The ticket price for this is the booking fee with UWAUC. The prices for the trips with Central Tafe will be similar to the last few years (last year it was $788 full price, $362 for concession card holders).

This includes all meals, tank fills, accomodation (we’ll sleep on the boat) on Friday evening prior to setting sail early Saturday morning. The boat returns to Geraldton on Monday mid-afternoon.

The TAFE rates offered are conditional on all passengers taking part in a number of units from their Cert III in Aquaculture (See attached flyer from a previous year – Scuba Diving 2017 V7MF). Assessment is mostly observational and is quite straight forward.

If you’re keen, please register at the bottom of the page and select your preferred dates, if we get enough I’ll go ahead and book the boat.  The booking fee will be refunded if we don’t get enough people for your selected date, or you can’t move to a different date. We normally have plenty of interest for these trips though and they fill up fast, so if you’re interested get in quick.

For a bit of info on diving the Abrolhos: https://www.godiving.com.au/abrolhos-islands-diving-abrolhos-islands-western-australia-islands/   Also check out Michael’s video, plus the trip reports from 2018 and 2017   If you like crayfish this is a trip not to miss; there are so many you won’t know which ones to go for.

Please note: to book onto this trip you must be logged into the website and be a current financial member of the club. If you are having any issues viewing this please contact us either through the Facebook page, or through the contact us page on this website. The booking fee is refundable if the date you have selected doesn’t go ahead, or if the trip is overbooked and we can’t get you onto that one or swap you onto another trip that you can make.  Other than that it is non refundable.
