G’day Members!
Our Annual General Meeting (AGM) is coming up on Tuesday 17th April, at the UWA Tavern. Starts at 6pm, meeting opens at 6.30pm. We will provide pizza and snacks, and there will be prizes to be won.
The AGM offers a great opportunity for all members to get involved, contribute ideas, and help us to stay Perth’s most fun and best value dive club!
As you probably know, the club is not-for-profit and is run entirely through the hard work of our wonderful volunteers who keep the wheels turning in the background. So if you’d like to REALLY help, put your hand up for a turn on the committee! We need people to plan dives and trips, look after dive gear, help maintain the boat and 4WD, organise social nights, open the shed for equipment hire etc etc.
Have a look at the UWAUC Committee Positions, and remember nobody expects you to know all about the position you’re signing up for – present committee members will share their knowledge and provide initial support to make the transition easy for you. If you’re keen, send your expression of interest to myself or any of the current committee members (https://uwauc.org.au/get-in-touch) so that we can be organised on the day.
IMPORTANT: We need a large number of members at the AGM to reach a quorum (meaning any voting or committee selection done at the AGM is official). If you can’t make the meeting, you can still help us do this by assigning a proxy (someone to vote on your behalf). Please fill out and sign the PROXY FORM and email it back to [email protected], the proxy is the Club President unless otherwise specified on the form.
