MUIRON ISLANDS DIVE TOUR
Sunday & Wednesday
2 Dives
7:30 to 4:30 approx
Lunch included
Your day to the Muiron Islands will start at 7:30 am when you are picked up from your accommodation and transferred to our luxurious boat Aliikai. Aliikai is a gorgeous 60ft boat with lots of shade, toilets, warm showers and even a convenient bar to purchase chocolate, chips and soft drinks… although tea, coffee, water, snacks and lunch are provided so you need not worry about going hungry! After your safety briefing you will begin the 1hr journey to the islands where you are able to relax and take in the scenery, be sure to keep a look out for turtles, sea snakes, dolphins, whales and dugongs along the way. Once you arrive at the islands you will be kitted out with gear which is all kept on board, and taken on your professionally guided dives for the day. The skipper will decide the best spots to dive on the day depending on the conditions. The dive sites will have a max depth of about 12mtrs .The Islands are famous for the amount of colourful coral in the area and as it is a nice peaceful dive you can take time to appreciate all the smaller creatures like nudibranchs, Christmas tree worms and cleaner shrimps. You will also encounter larger marine life such as sting rays, reef sharks, big schools of fish, turtles, moray eels and if you are really lucky the odd manta ray has been known to swim by. After your dives you will enjoy a lovely lunch of cold meats and salads and can relax on the boat or go for a snorkel until it is time to head back to land where your day will end after being transferred back to your accommodation around 4:30pm.
NINGALOO REEF - LIGHTHOUSE BAY DIVE TOUR
Tuesday & Tursday
3 Dives (the 3rd dive is a bonus dive and may not be possible due to circumstances beyond our control)
7:30 to 3:30 approx
BYO Lunch
Your day on the fabulous Ningaloo Reef starts at 7:30am when you are picked up from your accommodation and transferred to our luxurious boat Aliikai. Aliikai is a gorgeous 60ft boat with lots of shade, toilets, warm showers and even a convenient bar to purchase chocolate, chips and soft drinks. Tea, coffee, water and snacks are provided free of charge. After your safety briefing you will begin your ½ hr journey to Lighthouse bay which has the best dive spots on the Ningaloo Reef. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for turtles, sea snakes, dolphins, whales and dugongs along the way. You will then be kitted out with gear, which is kept on the boat so there is no need for you to lug heavy tanks around. The skipper will choose the best dive sites to go to depending on the conditions on the day. The dive sites will have a max depth of about 14mtrs. You will then be taken on a professionally guided dive and will be amazed by the amount of fish life located on this part of the reef! This is the kind of dive where you will not know where to look first. You will be surrounded by schools of fish and will see lion fish, turtles, sea snakes (which are very friendly), reef sharks and stingrays... and don’t forget to look for the smaller things too! You might see some nudibranchs and if you take the time to look really closely you may even get to see some harlequin shrimps!
WHALESHARK SNORKEL TOUR
Your exciting day with the Whalesharks will start at 7:30 am when you are picked up from your accommodation and transferred ½ an hour by bus to Tantabiddi boat ramp where our speedy catamaran Seaspray will be waiting for you to board. After a quick safety briefing and some interesting Whaleshark information from our Marine Biologist you will be given your snorkel equipment for the day and taken to a nice calm spot on the reef for a snorkel. You will have the opportunity to see what the reef has to offer in coral and marine life while also preparing for your swim with the Whaleshark! In the meantime the spotter planes will be in the air looking for a Whaleshark and once they find one its all action packed from there on in!
We will take a maximum of 20 people on the boat which we will divide into two groups so we only have a maximum of 10 people swimming with the Whaleshark at any one time. The group of 10 should also spread out on either side of the shark and everyone will get a fantastic experience swimming with this gentle giant. We do share our spotter planes with other companies and take turns swimming with the Whaleshark, do not let this worry you as the tour companies are all friends and very fair when taking turns with the Whalesharks, plus you will be so busy getting yourself ready and getting in and out of the water that the other boats will have had their turn and you won’t even notice! The main reason we share a plane is to increase the chances of seeing a Whaleshark, we are able to cover more ground, have more planes up and keep the planes up for longer if we all share the cost. Hopefully on a good day when there are plenty of sightings the boats will be spread out and each can have a Whaleshark to themselves. Another added bonus with sharing is the adrenaline rush felt to be the first boat to the Whaleshark - it is amazing! The crew, the skipper and the guests all get involved and love the friendly banter between the boats when these races are on.
At some stage during the day amid all the excitement we will find a nice place on the reef to chill out and enjoy a gourmet lunch of cold meats and salads. You will have another opportunity to snorkel on the reef before finally making it back to the boat ramp to be returned to your accommodation around 4:30pm. In the unlikely event that a Whaleshark is not sighted you will have the opportunity to come again for free on the next available tour.
A DVD of your Whaleshark experience may also be available on the day for $50
