Aim of courses
· The TDI advanced nitrox and decompression procedures courses are entry-level technical diving courses.
· The advanced nitrox course qualifies you to use nitrox mixes up to 100% oxygen. See further information here: http://www.tdisdi.com/wpsite/tdi/get-certified/Advanced-Nitrox-Diver/
· The decompression procedures course qualifies you to engage in staged decompression diving up to 45m. See further information here: http://www.tdisdi.com/wpsite/tdi/get-certified/Decompression-Procedures-Diver/
· Together, the combined courses provide training to allow you to undertake staged decompression, whilst using mixes of up to 100% oxygen as part of your decompression mix (for conservatism or to accelerate your decompression time).
· The courses also provide training in using twin cylinder set-ups with a single stage cylinder.
Pre-requisites
· Advanced Open Water Diver
· (Recreational) Nitrox diver
· 25 dives
· Successfully pass a skills pre-assessment in the pool and dive fit (ie participated in regular recent diving in the 30 to 40m range)
· Complete medical questionnaire. If you answer "yes" to any of the questions, you will need a medical physician sign-off to participate.
Course Dives
· A minimum of 6 open water divers, with certain dives having minimum depth requirements.
Required Training Materials
· Advanced Nitrox manual
· Decompression Procedures manual
Course schedule (3/4 March and 10/11 March)
· Independent study using manuals and complete knowledge quizzes (prior to commencement of course)
· Theory and equipment workshop (3/4 March)
· Pool (3 March)
· Shore diving (4 March)
· Two days of boat diving on the club boat (10/11 March)
Equipment
This course is equipment intensive, and would typically require access to double cylinders and a stage cylinder. Please discuss the equipment requirements for the course with Matt.
Costs
· Decompression Procedures and Advanced Nitrox manuals - $110 (for both)
· Your own costs for equipment hire (if required), gases, pool entry and club boat fees (2 days).
· Upon successful completion of courses, TDI certification costs ($45 per course)
