COURSE OVERVIEW:
The PADI Rescue Diver course teaches you rescue skills. Specifically, its goals are to:
· Increase your awareness of diver safety.
· Develop your abilities to anticipate and prevent problems as well as to manage them.
· Teach effective rescue techniques and first aid skills specific to diving.
· Prepare you to manage diver emergency situations.
PREREQUISITES:
· PADI Advanced Open Water Diver (or equivalent)
· A CPR & first aid certificate (completed in the past 24 months) - see below
· Dive fit (you have participated in regular recent diving)
STRUCTURE:
· Theory
-Self study using PADI Rescue Diver manual/video, completing knowledge reviews, preparing an emergency assistance plan and passing exam.
· Practical
-1 day in the pool and 1 day at an open water site (accessible by shore) - Sat 24 / Sun 25 March 2012
COST: $110
INCLUDES:
· PADI Rescue Diver manual and diving accident management work slate
· PADI certification fee
EXCLUDES:
· Equipment (hire from club if necessary).
· Air fills
· CPR/First aid training course - if unsure, please ask for recommended third party providers (alternatively, for those interested, the first aid course can also be run by Matt with the rescue course for an extra $60 which covers the cost of your training materials and certification)
