Divemaster Course Intro
The PADI Divemaster certification is the one we all know means "woah, this person knows their stuff". And with good reason.
To gain this certification requires a lot of knowledge, skills, fitness and a professional approach to diving which all come together to create the consummate diver.
Unlike most of the other PADI certifications, there are several components to the Divemaster training which all need to be completed. This summer, Simon will be running a Divemaster Training program which uses other courses to allow candidates to complete the internship portion of their training as early as possible.
Before this internship commences we will be dealing with theory, dive fitness and polishing specific skills until we can point at you and say "This is how you should do it!"
Course Cost: $565
Minimum: 1 student.
Maximum: 4 students.
Prerequisites: Rescue diver, 18 years min, 20 logged dives, EFR/Snr 1st Aid completed within 24 months, Commercial dive medical within 12 months.
Time commitment: See the calendar. We have at least two pool sessions and 9 Wednesday night theory sessions (plus homework). You will need to do a couple of dives with a buddy. You will need to attend (in entirety) two open water courses, a rescue course and one other course. You will need to run a Scuba Review or Discover Local Diving course (one dive). Nearly all of this is already scheduled - check the club calendar for DM session and other course details. We can move things around a little - this is one of the reasons for the info night so it's important to attend if you plan on joining in for this course.
